Souza hat es auf faszinierende Weise geschafft, Obama zu begleiten, ohne ihn zu glorifizieren. Herausgekommen ist ein Buch, das gerade einmal genügend Text enthält, um Bilder in den historischen Kontext einzuordnen, den Rest machen die großformatigen Bilder und Serien mit politischen, gesellschaftlichen und familiären Szenen. Eine atemberaubende Achterbahnfahrt zwischen Schmunzeln, Berührung, Staunen und Wehmut. Ein Buch, das man immer wieder in die Hand nimmt und stundenlang Geschichte erzählt.
Ich folge Pete Souza auf Instagram schon seit einer ganzen Weile.Und dieses Buch ist einfach eine tolle Sammlung wunderbarer Fotos und schöner Geschichten und Erinnerungen.Pete hat einen tollen Blick für fotogene Gelegenheiten. Manchmal wirklich nur aus Zufall, manchmal fast gestellt - aber immer sehenswert.Leider hab ich ihn persönlich hier in Berlin verpasst, um meine Ausgabe noch signieren zu lassen - das hätte das Ganze nochmal getoppt :)Aber grundsätzlich: Wer Obama mochte und noch immer mag - für den bringt dieses Buch viele schöne Erinnerungen und Geschichten zurück. Dafür eine klare Kaufempfehlung!(Und bitte jetzt keine Diskussionen/Bemerkungen darüber, wer Obama mag oder nicht, oder was er politisch alles angestellt hat und was nicht... darum geht es hier NICHT und ich will es auch nicht hören/lesen.)
